Superintendent Davis extends Summer Meals Program

Summer Food Fuel up

Now that our students aren’t starting school until August 24th, Superintendent Addison Davis wants to make sure they continue to receive nutritious meals. He is extending the Summer Grab-and-Go meal distribution until Thursday, August 13th.

Kids and teens can continue to receive balanced meals Mondays through Thursdays until August 13th from 10:30am – 12:30pm at 70 select school sites throughout the district. Children do not have to be present to receive a meal; however, parents need to bring a student ID number (for enrolled HCPS students) or date of birth for children who are not enrolled.

Each student will receive a lunch for that day and breakfast for the next day. On Thursdays, each child will receive meals for Thursday and Friday.

School Reopening Plan for the 2020-21 school year

district reopening plan

On Thursday during the School Board Workshop, Superintendent Addison Davis presented his detailed School Reopening Plan for the 2020-21 school year.

This plan evolved after extensive discussions with our health partners at Tampa General Hospital and USF Health. It is a fluid plan that we will continue to modify as the need arises.

The plan includes information about what returning to school will look like, an extensive look at each of our three learning options, and what steps will happen if there is a positive COVID-19 case in one of our schools.

You can view the School Reopening Plan here.
