As parents are getting ready to send their kids back to school, many will realize their children will need up-to-date immunizations and physicals.

Last year alone, 1,000 families benefited from free vaccines and physicals at the 2014 Back 2 School Fair. According to School Health Services Supervisor Maria Russ, traditional community resources are limited which makes it challenging to get students to return to school on time.

To assist families, Hillsborough County Public Schools, in partnership with the Back to School Coalition of Hillsborough County, will host several Back 2 School Fairs, enabling children to meet school requirements to start school on time.

Those who register for the event will be eligible to receive “Free” immunizations, physicals, and a backpack filled with school supplies.

Back 2 School Fair Check List:

  • A parent or legal guardian must accompany children at all times.
  • Free physicals are available for children in kindergarten through grade 12 (K-12).
  • Immunization records are required for children to receive free immunizations. Sports, Head Start, and Child Care physicals will NOT be available during the fairs.
  • Free backpack with school supplies
  • Free kid friendly activities, community resources and school supplies
  • Open to all K-12 students enrolling in a private, charter or public school.
